Mr Santi Doungpraseuth - Chairman

 

Mr Santi Doungpraseuth is the Chairman and Executive Director of PEDA, and has worked for the organization since 2004. He has a Master in Social Science, and a PhD in Regional Development Strategies.

 

Santi has over 15 years’ experience in community development and social work, working predominantly in preventative healthcare education associated with HIV/AIDS / STIs, malaria, tuberculosis, reproductive health and drug use. He also has keen interest in other areas relevant to Laos, including human trafficking, gender matters, and sustainable community income generation.

 

Santi is adept at designing and delivering comprehensive education packages, utilizing methods such as behavior change communication (BCC), information, education, communication (IEC) materials, advocacy, and communication and social mobilization (ACSM). He also has broad-ranging skills in conducting primary research and undertaking monitoring and evaluation (M&E).

 

Santi has significant experience working in remote and regional areas, and with ethnic minorities, including in association with the Northern Economic Corridor (R3) Project.


Ms Thipphavanh Thammachith - Vice Chairman

 

Ms Thipphavanh Thammachith is the PEDA Vice Chairman and has worked for PEDA since 2007. Thipphavanh has a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of International Development Studies.

 

Thipphavanh has more than 10 years experience and her areas of technical expertise include, project management, planning and delivery, financial management, government, donor and community liaison, coordinating and leading community development activities, environmental conservation, income generation and sustainable economic development, capacity building and empowerment focused on women in rural communities and sex workers.

 

Thipphavanh has worked on a range of important projects including for the Global Fund on HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, for USAID on HIV/AIDS and STIs, for Heifer International on poverty reduction and livelihood development, and for the Lao-German International Cooperation on HIV/AIDS and human trafficking.
