AVID & the Australian Red Cross

The Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) program is an Australian Government initiative, it is implemented by three partner organisations who each sends volunteers to placements throughout Asia and the Pacific. PEDA has received support through the AVID program since 2013, with Scope Global and the Australian Red Cross both sending volunteers.

An Australian Business Volunteer spent 3 months working with PEDA, focusing on business and organizational development.

A second volunteer was placed on a 12 month assignment as a Project and Programs Mentor. This role focused on capacity building and skill development in relation to monitoring and evaluation, and program and project management. A strategic planning process was underaken to develop a five year strategic plan. This provides PEDA with a roadmap for improved service delivery, and is aligned with the developed Vision, Mission and Values.
