Malaria Prevention in Ethnic Minorities in Nong District

Background, Scope & Goals

This project was developed by scaling up a previous Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (GFATM) Round 7 project, in which PEDA was involved and was, therefore, able to act on lessons learned, previous findings, and existing gaps in remote geographic areas/villages of Nong district, Savannakhet province. Malaria is still a burden disease for ethnic minority communities and people in remote areas of Savannakhet, where they are still marginalized from information and services. This project commenced in January 2015. The goal of this project was to increase knowledge of malaria prevention and referral in ethinic minority communities in the Nong district.
